To mark the start of construction of the Seoul Photographic Art Museum in November, the Seoul Musuem of Art and the Seoul Cultural Center co-hosted the seminar “A Complete Art Museum – The Museum is not enough.” As the first public photography museum of Seoul Museum of Art, the methods and processes of architecture, exhibition, collections and image research were shared and the role and requirements of an art museum in a time of rapid medial change were discussed. Mladen Jadric (Jadric Architecture) and Yoon Geun Yu (1990uao) presented the architectural design from form finding to detailed planning.

Presentation by Yoon Geun Yu (partner architect in Korea). Interesting figures: 542 days were planned, 247 people were involved, the tower would be 230cm high if all the documents produced were stacked on top of each other, and a total of 30,000 documents and plans were created.

So this is where it will soon be – the groundbreaking ceremony has already taken place. Construction is expected to take 25 months.
