Project Description
Each segment of the future represents a new crossroads—it is always a new call to choose the right path. The Sign of the Future, “Sarajevo Crossing,” was constructed in 1995 with the support of the House of Architecture and served as a clear symbol against war and destruction.
The installation traveled to several cities as part of a project intended to confront the public with the tragedy of the Bosnian conflict. This work was presented in Graz, Vienna, Klagenfurt, and Salzburg in the years 1994 and 1995. The Sign of the Future was our statement not only against war, but also a sign of the general inability to resolve various emerging conflicts.
