Competition: Geomdan Museum Library Complex

The Geomdan Museum & Library Cultural Complex (2023) is a visionary proposal located at the tranquil edge of Incheon’s Geomdan Park. The design concept, often described as a “living bridge” or ecological corridor, seamlessly melds museum, library, and community event spaces beneath a sweeping green roof. This landscaped canopy physically and visually connects the two surrounding hills with the park below.

The building’s form responds sensitively to the site’s topography: it mimics the curves of the lake and slopes through a sculptural composition of prisms and vaulted structures, creating plazas and terraces that invite public engagement.

Jadric Architektur ZT GmbH, in collaboration with 1990uao, proposed a unique interpretation within the international competition. Their concept emphasizes spatial openness and fluid transitions between interior and exterior areas.
