Elevation Einsiedlerplatz

Das Wohnhaus aus der Spätgründerzeit befindet sich in der Liechtensraße im 9. Bezirk, in der Nähe des historischen Palais Liechtenstein.

The building will be extended by two floors in the converted attic, which contain a total of 5 new apartments characterized by their generous open spaces.

The facade will be renovated and plastered in a warm beige tone. Window surrounds are reminiscent of the original but lost decor.

All existing apartments in both the street and the courtyard wing will be renovated and equipped with private open spaces such as recessed loggias and balconies. The demolition of secondary walls of the currently nested floor plan will enable flexible uses. The rooms which face the quiet courtyard will thus be significantly upgraded as living spaces. To match an eco-friendly design the inner courtyard will be unsealed. It will be stocked with new shrubs and climbing plants. Further, the unused subterranean space at the street-side can be used as a semi-public workshop or hobby room in the future.

A newly constructed elevator provides barrier-free access to all floors, including the basement. The two-story roof is planned as an elegant surface inclined at a 45° angle with generous glazing that blends harmoniously into the roof landscape of the historic Viennese city block. This allows wide views over the treetops of the park towards the world-famous inner city.
